BROWSER ON META QUEST
From 2024 to 2025, I served as the lead content designer for the Browser and web platform team on Meta Quest.
Beyond being the #1 most-used app on the Meta Quest platform, Browser also acts as the framework that all of Quest’s web apps (like Spotify, Xbox, etc.) are built upon. Patterns and paradigms on Browser have a ripple effect across the entire Horizon OS ecosystem.
During my time on the team, I drove product strategy and design for the Browser app and its suite of dependent initiatives, including…
Meta Quest 3S Xbox Edition: a co-branded, record-selling headset that showcased the power of cloud gaming via the included Xbox app — which was entirely powered by Browser.
Project Flowerbed: an award-winning, open-source gardening game that showcased the power of WebXR — and gave developers the tools and assets to build it themselves.
Travel mode, which allowed users to quickly and easily access their favorite online content on public Wi-Fi — while communicating which spatial experiences may not be safe to use on a plane or train seat.
Password importing, which allowed users to bring their saved passwords from their desktop computers into their Meta Quest headset — making login a breeze.
Website shortcuts, which allowed users to add their favorite web pages to their Library in Meta Horizon — making them quick and easy to launch from their home screen.
Website permission manager, which allowed users to fine-tune control what data permissions each website has access to.
