Expanding Walmart into Washington, D.C. Amidst Controversy

While working with Walmart while they lobbied for approval to expand their franchise into Washington D.C., the company faced a lot of resistance from the local populace. To combat this, I advised their campaign to focus on their stores' unique position to solve the growing issue of "food deserts" that plagued the nation's capitol. I went on to develop PR materials, pitch and ghost-wrote editorials on behalf of politicians and community figureheads, and draft company responses to campaign opponents. By the end of my involvement with the client, their expansion had been approved and they boasted a welcoming consumer base.
