LENS STUDIO BY Snap
In late 2017, Snapchat unveiled Lens Studio — its free Augmented Reality (AR) creator and publisher program.
It was incredibly intuitive and easy to use (I was able to get an AR object up-and-running on my mobile device in 30 minutes, and I am pretty stupid), so I worked with their team to help communicate its power, potential, and seamless user experience.
I oversaw naming and branding of the product, the launch of the Lens Studio website and YouTube channel, and helped shape the UX experience of the design program itself.
The launch was explosive. After only six weeks, community-made Lenses were used over 1 billion times. To date, they’ve been used over 40 billion times, and have fostered a vibrant community of AR creators all over the world.
